My Story
I know what it's like to feel like life is falling apart around you and then to bravely and boldly turn that turmoil into an opportunity for expansion and transformation because I've been there, more than once!
My own series of life challenges and the spiritual creative journey that led me out of the dark, is what inspires me to help other women to turn their pain into power and evolve into the most beautiful, authentic, best versions of themselves.
A little about me...
Hi! My name's Sam Horton!
I'm a practising artist, and I create vibrant feminine acrylic paintings.
But, I am most passionate about my role as a creative mentor, life coach and spiritual guide, empowering women to remember who they really are at their core so that they can move through life's challenges boldly and bravely and experience personal transformation on the other side.
I'm a British-born Australian and live on the glorious Sunshine Coast, nestled in nature in between the stunning coast and the luscious hinterland with my tween daughter and our hilarious mini poodle.
I'm a self-confessed homebody obsessed with connecting my heart with my home through my love for art, flowers, nature and sentimental treasures.
About a year ago, I ditched my wine for a chai latte or Kombucha, and I’ve not looked back!
I believe self-care is about soul inquiry and action to match, not another to-do list.
This was my life:
-
Trapped in a successful business career & toxic marriage, I knew deep down weren't really for me. Even though I was awesome at my job and everything looked peachy on the surface.
-
Constantly hitting painful, unexpected roadblocks in the white picket fence life I thought I wanted.
-
Living life and kicking goals but never truly feeling satisfied and content. And then shaming myself for being ungrateful and wanting more.
-
Unable to tune into or trust my inner knowing and lacking the courage to stand in my truth to make the big decisions I desperately needed to make.
-
Disconnected from my myself and my creativity with limited beliefs about what was possible.
-
I struggled to give myself permission to play and experience pleasure and joy, even though I had a creative urge that whispered to me for decades, like a nagging nemesis.
-
And worse, I numbed all of this out by striving and working harder, and with food, alcohol, online shopping and procrastination.
Then I found a pause and turned inwards through my creativity:
Through the act of play, exploration and with no fixed expectation of the outcome, I experimented my little creative heart out. I made things, I drew, painted, collaged and even sewed. At first, my art was terrible, but it got better the more I tuned into what felt good in the creative process. It all has its place in my journey.
Every project inspired the next one. My curiosity and hunger for self exploration and growth the fuel to keep going. As I moved through each creative phase, I felt stronger, more confident, better equipped to make hard decisions, to actively choose my future. I felt deeply connected to myself and the world around me in ways I had never felt before. I have tapped into parts of myself I never knew were there and found courage in some of my life's darkest moments.
What I didn't know early on was that my creative journey was facilitating a profound and empowering spiritual transformation, helping me connect to the universe's transcendent, intangible energy and power.
Over time, I have come to understand that the creative journey is a mirror for spiritual transformation and empowerment. I've learnt how to apply spiritual language, structure, and concepts to my creative practice, which flawlessly integrate and perfectly match my personal experience. This allows me to share this expansive framework and these transformative tools with other brave, bold women.
My own transformation has seen me tune into my inner wisdom, quiet the outside noise, cease to rely on external fixes and validation to move through life, be bolder and braver in my goals and life direction, create more life balance and lean into my feminine power, set firmer boundaries, heal from the trauma of recurrent miscarriages, release my unhealthy marriage, remove myself from an impossible, highly toxic work situation, learn to value and prioritise play, creativity and free expression, claim my identity as an Artist, make an unrecognisable career change, parent my emotionally sensitive tween with more trust and tenderness, and to discover more purpose, meaning and authenticity in the way I live, love and share my unique sparkle with the world.
Whether you are going through a career crisis or burnout, facing a relationship breakdown, trying to make sense of a toxic situation, or you're experiencing a restless, painful inner conflict because you know that there is more within you to discover, experience, express or share with the world,
I'm here to help!
I can guide you to move through major life challenges boldy and bravely using powerful spiritual and creative tools to help you remember who you really are at your core, so that you can meaningfully nurture yourself, authentically express your inner truth and experience personal transformation.
