Unmasking Creativity: You are Enough, No Matter Your Neurotype | Angie Dixon

creativity & well-being podcast summaries Mar 02, 2026

There is a quiet exhaustion that comes from trying to be someone you’re not.

Not in a dramatic, obvious way.
But in the subtle, everyday ways…
The way you hold back your thoughts.
The way you soften your edges.
The way you try to organise your mind into systems that were never designed for you.

For many women, especially those who feel deeply creative, multi-passionate, or “different” in some way, this becomes a lifelong pattern.

Trying to fit into the box.
Trying to follow the rules.
Trying to be less… or more… depending on what the world seems to reward.

But what if the problem was never you?

The Myth of the Box

In my recent conversation with Angie Dixon, we explored this idea through her concept of the Leonardo Trait — a way of understanding people whose minds are naturally expansive, curious, and unwilling to stay in one lane.

People who don’t want one passion.
People who don’t think in straight lines.
People who feel most alive when they are creating, exploring, and following threads of inspiration.

And yet… these are often the very people who feel the most “wrong.”

Why?

Because the world often celebrates linearity.
Consistency.
Neatness.
Predictability.

But creativity doesn’t live there.

Creativity is messy.
Layered.
Evolving.

It doesn’t sit quietly in a box… because it was never meant to.

Angie Dixon is a multipassionate author, artist, summit host, and proudly neurospicy human who spent way too many years trying to squeeze herself into the beige-human template. Angie’s work sits at the crossroads of creativity, neurodivergence, and she coined the term “the Leonardo Trait” nearly twenty years ago to describe people whose minds refuse to sit quietly in one box.
